How Long Is the Dental Implant Process?
In the following video, Dr. Vahid Bashi outlines the dental implant process, from the day of the procedure to the final restoration.
After the implant has been successfully positioned in the jaw, the healing process typically spans a period of one to three months. The exact duration varies based on factors such as the type of implant used and the condition of the surrounding tissue.
For instance, if the implant is inserted immediately after a tooth extraction, it will generally require more time to heal compared to an area where the tooth has been missing for an extended period, allowing for complete tissue healing. The healing timeframe is highly dependent on the specific circumstances of the patient. In general, one should anticipate a healing period ranging from six to eight to twelve weeks for the implant to fully and properly heal.
